Conference participants must be part of an active PeaceJam group, in 8th - 12th grades, and must attend with their advisor. The cost to attend the PeaceJam Northeast Youth Conference is $125/participant (youth and advisor), which includes all conference activities, and meals from breakfast on Saturday through lunch on Sunday. PeaceJam groups make different arrangements for how the conference fee is paid, so please ask your advisor how your group will be doing this.
Conference registration is a two step process. Click on the link below to go to our registration web site, where you will fill in your information. When you submit it, you will download a file that has a set of forms to print. Complete some additional information (including a medical history form), sign the forms and have your parent/guardian sign them (if you're under 18), and give them to your advisor.
The deadline for online registration is March 10, 2010. All completed and signed registration forms must be returned to advisors by March 11. Advisors will mail the forms and conference fee to us. While we'll do our best to accommodate anyone who registers online after March 10, we can't guarantee that there will be space available.
CONFERENCE HOTEL
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, 189 Brainard Rd., Hartford at $85/room/night for up to 4 people sharing a room. Rooms must be booked directly with the hotel at 860-525-1000 (ask for the PeaceJam room rate). The deadline for booking hotel rooms is March 5 (the special rate and room availability can't be guaranteed after that). The hotel will operate a shuttle to/from the University of Hartford on Saturday and Sunday, so let them know if your group will be using it.
No Committed PeaceJammer is ever turned away from a conference because of their financial circumstances. Advisors may contact us about financial assistance.
